The World Bank’s Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Country Management Unit (CMU) is the liaison between the World Bank and the six Arab States of the GCC : Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The GCC Country Department collaborates with WBG technical departments to provide advisory and technical services. The GCC is managed through four offices : a Regional Office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; a Country Office in Kuwait; a Country Office in Abu Dhabi, UAE; and an HQ unit in Washington, DC. The Team Assistant will join the Regional World Bank Group Office in Riyadh to support the RAS program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The office houses a diverse team of local and international staff and a mix of World Bank, IFC, and MIGA personnel. Roles & Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the key roles and responsibilities include the following : Provides quality control of internal and external documents, reviews documents for accuracy and adherence with World Bank guidelines and procedures. Assists in drafting, editing, formatting, and production of documents and correspondence. Coordinates schedules, prioritizes changes, and communicates information to staff inside and outside the immediate work unit, including officials outside the bank. Solves non-routine problems and responds to queries requiring research. Provides administrative support for meetings, conference calls, video conferences, workshops, including logistics, materials, invitations, and follow-up. Builds a participant database and drafts event reports. Coordinates travel requests for consultants as necessary and assists with mission agendas. Maintains current distribution lists, project contacts, and distributes documents to relevant task teams. Maintains up-to-date work unit files (paper and electronic). Manages logistics for visiting missions and bookings for business travel; obtains tickets and requests visas for staff. Collaborates with team members and contributes productively to the team’s work and output; ensures inclusive collaboration. Generates reports as needed and assists with other administrative and operational matters in the MNC05 Department. Provides backup support for colleagues as needed. Selection Criteria
Education / Experience Minimum education : Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience Required Competencies Technology and systems knowledge – Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and willingness to maintain up-to-date skills. Project and task management - Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical skills; ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and to work with minimal supervision.
