Country Management Unit Context
The World Bank’s GCC Country Management Unit (CMU) is the liaison between the World Bank and the six Arab States of the GCC. The GCC Country Department manages relationships with GCC countries, working with WB technical departments to provide advisory and technical services. The team is based in Riyadh and supports the RAS program in Saudi Arabia.
Roles & Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Team Assistant will perform the following responsibilities :
- Provides quality control of internal and external documents, reviews documents for accuracy and adherence to World Bank guidelines and procedures.
- Assists in drafting, editing, formatting, and production of documents and correspondence.
- Coordinates schedules, monitors changes, and communicates information to staff and external officials.
- Solves non-routine problems and responds to research requests.
- Assists with organizing meetings, conference calls, video conferences, workshops, and conferences, including administrative and logistic arrangements, preparing materials, sending invitations, and follow-up. Builds a participant database and drafts event reports.
- Coordinates travel requests for consultants when necessary.
- Assists with coordination of mission agendas as needed.
- Maintains current distribution lists, project contacts, and distributes documents to relevant task teams.
- Maintains up-to-date project and file records (paper and electronic).
- Manages logistics for visiting missions of the units and handles travel bookings, visas, and related arrangements.
- Collaborates with team members to contribute to the team’s output and include others in the work process.
- Generates reports as needed.
- Assists with other administrative and operational matters in the department.
- Back-up support for colleagues as required.
