Overview Senior Commercial Manager role at
WSP in the Middle East . The Senior Commercial Manager will lead commercial management activities, including contract administration, cost control, procurement support, and financial reporting. The role requires strong experience in managing contracts for large-scale infrastructure projects in GCC countries, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to mitigate commercial risks. The project involves large-scale land development including civil infrastructure, utilities, and urban facilities. The Senior Commercial Manager will oversee all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring contract compliance, cost control, and effective financial management.
Responsibilities
Lead the Contract & Commercial implementation, monitoring, compliance and performance across the program
Lead Develop RFPs and execute contract documentation in line with agreed procurement and packaging strategies working hand in hand with RCRC procurement
Lead collation of necessary procurement documents, as per client requirements for engaging parties across the program
Lead the review and monitor of Program level costs, cash flows, and expenditures
Lead Program level budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial performance monitoring in line with procurement and packaging strategies to achieve program objectives
Lead preparation of monthly Commercial financial reports
Lead preparation of cost estimations
Lead and manage all commercial and contract management activities for the project.
Review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements.
Monitor project costs, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Identify and manage commercial risks, including claims, variations, and disputes.
Prepare regular commercial reports, dashboards, and financial analyses for senior management and clients.
Coordinate with project management, design, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure contractual compliance.
Advise on contractual and commercial strategies to optimize project outcomes.
Mentor and guide junior commercial and contract staff.
Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
15+ years of experience in commercial and contract management on large-scale land development or infrastructure projects.
Proven experience in GCC countries, preferably Saudi Arabia.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methods.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project commercial software and reporting tools (Primavera, SAP, Excel, or equivalent).
