You don’t need the name to know exactly what we’re talking about!
About The Opportunity
Step into a role where artistry meets engineering, and where your expertise, whether in animatronics, sculpture, or both, helps shape the future of immersive experiences. As Project Manager for Specialist Sculptures & Animatronics, you’ll lead the delivery of some of the most visually striking and technically intricate elements within a cutting-edge theme park environment.
Whether your background leans toward lifelike animated figures or monumental scenic sculptures, we’re looking for someone who can orchestrate complex packages with precision, passion, and creative flair. If you’ve mastered one and are eager to grow into the other, we’re ready to support that journey.
Own the end-to-end delivery of specialist sculptural and / or animatronic elements across multiple attractions or themed zones.
Act as the central liaison between creative, technical, fabrication, and installation teams—protecting creative intent while ensuring technical excellence.
Collaborate with Art Directors, show set designers, and technical leads to translate vision into reality.
Source and manage world-class vendors in sculpture, scenic art, and animatronics fabrication.
Develop and manage detailed schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and resource plans tailored to your package.
Oversee fabrication, testing, shipping, and on-site installation, ensuring milestones are met and quality is uncompromised.
Coordinate integration with adjacent disciplines—lighting, audio, control systems, MEP, and structural interfaces.
Lead design reviews, mockups, and technical walk-throughs to validate creative and operational success.
Manage documentation, approvals, and handover packages, including maintenance and training materials.
Support procurement through scope development, proposal reviews, and tender evaluations.
Champion quality assurance throughout fabrication and installation, including factory inspections and FATs.
Maintain a proactive risk register and resolve technical or schedule-related challenges.
Facilitate training sessions with vendors and maintenance teams to ensure long-term sustainability of assets.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Themed Entertainment, Industrial Design, or related field preferred not required.
Proven experience in either large-scale sculpture or animatronics delivery—both is ideal, but one is absolutely fine.
8 + years’ experience in project management within themed entertainment, museum exhibits, film production, or specialty fabrication.
Understanding of sculptural fabrication methods, materials (e.g. EPS carving, modeling, fiberglass, resin, foam, steel armatures), and scenic finishing techniques.
Familiarity with animatronic design, mechatronics, control systems, and figure programming a strong plus.
Proven experience managing creative vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Experience with interface management between specialist show elements and base building works.
