Overview
Rassas is a limited liability company based in Riyadh and wholly owned by Tasnee. An exciting opportunity is available for Engineer II, SHE based in Riyadh , KSA.
Who will report directly to the GM, Batteries and Lead Products .
Summary
Monitor health and safety for the BU, identify unsafe behavior or regulatory breaks, assess risk, and design strategies to reduce potential hazards in the workplace. Manage and train health and safety staff, investigate incident reports, and create analytical safety data reports.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-implementation risk assessments on works when required and identify risk mitigation measures in conjunction with Lines Leaders.
- Review risk assessments and visit sites to assess work for compliance with specifications.
- Corrective Action
- Act as a business resource for HSE related issues.
- Provide SHE improvement proposals, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation on NCRs issued.
- Follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented where necessary and that requirements are complied with.
- Report on departmental performance where repetitive matters are not being addressed.
- Communicate effectively and represent the department with local government officials, external agencies, industry representatives, consultants, NGOs, department staff, and the public; coordinate inspections and minimize and correct deficiencies.
- Meetings
- Conduct CSHE Committee Meetings (planning, scheduling and review) to discuss safety matters and define solutions.
- Conduct routine safety meetings to review new procedures and policies for all employees.
- Conduct safety training or education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
- Investigation and Corrective Actions Reporting
- Investigate root causes of SHE complaints from staff, customers, clients, and contractors.
- Coordinate and participate in investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses; identify causes and preventive measures.
- Prepare monthly SHE reports (dashboard), statistics and presentations related to SHE performance.
- Emergency Procedures
- Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted; maintain records of drills.
- Supervise inspections of firefighting, safety, and emergency response equipment at Plant.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response procedures and evacuation plans; ensure these plans are communicated to staff and visitors and that training / induction registers are updated.
- Audit
- Inspect workplaces for Unsafe Condition / Behavior and minimize or eliminate hazards.
- Provide detailed audit reports with findings, identify non-conformities, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and verify that corrective measures have been implemented.
- Compliance and Documents
- Assist in developing required documentation, operational checks, and reports for plant compliance with OHSAS 18001 / 2007 and ISO 14001 / 2004, including corrective and preventive measures.
- Review and amend standards, specifications, policies and procedures for approval.
- Identify applicable regulations for the industry or company.
- Inspect and evaluate environment, equipment, and processes to ensure regulatory and internal standards compliance.
- Ensure contractor personnel comply with RSS policies and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers or specialists to institute measures to control hazardous conditions or equipment to protect workers.
- Induction and Site Files
- Ensure Operations employees, contractors, and site visitors receive SHE induction at kickoff meetings and prior to entering operations.
- Job Safety and Analysis
- Establish Safe Work Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safe Work Instructions; monitor implementation for continuous improvement.
- SHE Administrative Duties
- Coordinate and track ongoing safety training for all employees.
- Oversee development and implementation of health and safety programs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors, and employees.
- Schedule retraining for employees involved in incidents.
- Follow instructions and perform any additional duties as required.
- Hold an Engineering Degree in a relevant field.
- NEBOSH IGC certification or equivalent.
- ISO 45001, 14001 or 9001 certification.
Minimum Experience
2 to 3 years related experience.Knowledge & Skills Required
Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Professional English / Arabic language proficiency.Registered in HRSD as practitioner.Strong understanding of manufacturing facility risks.Safety, Injury Prevention and Emergency Procedures.Data gathering, analysis & reporting.Interpersonal effectiveness; operational safety; regulatory environment awareness.Emergency management; incident and accident investigation.Job Segment
