Job Description - Assistant Cook (ACC0000BR)
The Assistant Cook performs a variety of routine tasks to assist in the preparation and cooking of foods, following standard practices and procedures. The role requires compliance with all hygiene and sanitation regulations outlined in the company policies.
Responsibilities include :
- Setting up utensils and food supplies as requested by the cooks.
- Performing tasks under the direction of the cook, such as cutting, washing, or preparing meat, fish, poultry, and vegetables using appropriate tools and equipment like grinders, slicers, dicers, choppers, mixers, and blenders.
- Assisting to facilitate the flow of work in the kitchen and food distribution operations.
- Alerting supervisors to issues concerning equipment and food supplies.
- Ensuring all items stored are correctly covered, labeled, and date-stamped.
- Detecting and reporting spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, equipment, or other unusual conditions.
- Assisting in the care and maintenance of work areas, equipment, and supplies.
- Reporting supply shortages.
- Working shifts as required.
- Attending in-service and other training sessions as required.
