Assistant Cook

Job Description - Assistant Cook (ACC00009A) Description : Performs a variety of routine tasks to assist in the preparation and cooking of foods, following standard practices and procedures. Is required to comply with all hygiene and sanitation regulations contained in the Company policies. Responsibilities :

Sets up utensils and food supplies as requested by the cooks. Performs tasks under the direction of the cook; cuts, washes, or otherwise prepares meat, fish, poultry, and vegetables using appropriate tools and equipment such as meat and / or vegetable grinders, slicers, dicers, choppers, mixers, and blenders. Assists as directed to facilitate the flow of work in the operations of the kitchen and food distribution. Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Ensures that all items placed into storage are correctly covered, labeled, and date-stamped. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective food supplies, equipment, or other unusual conditions. Assists in the care and maintenance of work areas, equipment, and supplies. Reports supply shortages. Works shifts as required. Attends in-service and other training sessions as required.
