The Manager, QA – Supply Chain will oversee and implement quality assurance systems and compliance programs across the poultry supply chain, from live bird sourcing to processing, packaging, and distribution. This role ensures product quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, and supplier performance, supporting the company's commitment to deliver safe, high-quality poultry products.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance Oversight : Develop, implement, and maintain QA systems across all supply chain stages (farms, feed mills, hatcheries, processing plants, cold chain, and logistics).
- Quality performance monitoring : Monitor quality performance metrics (e.g., rejection rates, audit scores, customer complaints).
- Investigations : Lead investigations into quality deviations, non-conformances, and root cause analyses.
Supply Chain Integration
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure quality standards are upheld at each supply point.Evaluate and audit third-party suppliers, transporters, and cold storage vendors.Ensure traceability systems are in place and functional throughout the poultry supply chain.Food Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with national and international food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, HALAL).Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits by regulators or certification bodies.Ensure compliance with veterinary, feed, and processing regulations related to poultry products.Manage QA inspectors or officers across supply chain nodes.Conduct training programs for supply chain staff on hygiene, safety, and quality best practices.Promote a culture of continuous improvement and food safety awareness.Data Management & Reporting
Maintain QA documentation and prepare regular reports on quality trends and KPIs.Work with IT and operations teams to implement digital quality tracking and traceability tools.Support crisis management with data and corrective action plans in case of product recalls or safety alerts.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Veterinary Science, Poultry Science, Microbiology, or related field.Advanced certification in HACCP, ISO 22000, or Six Sigma is preferred.Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in quality assurance in the poultry or food processing industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of poultry farming, feed, processing, cold chain logistics, and food safety regulations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent leadership and team management capabilitiesKnowledge of poultry-specific hazards and contamination controlUnderstanding of logistics and cold chain managementProficient in QA software and reporting toolsEffective communication and stakeholder management skillsSeniority level
