Commercial Director

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead the commercial and contractual aspects of our large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will handle high-value contracts, disputes, claims, litigation, and arbitration across both upstream (main contracts) and downstream (subcontracts).

This role is pivotal in safeguarding the company’s commercial position, mitigating risks, and driving successful outcomes in contentious matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of major projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee all contractual matters : drafting, negotiation, claims, and change management.
• Develop strategies for dispute management and resolution.
• Manage variations, claims, litigation, pre-arbitration, and arbitration proceedings.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel, expert witnesses, and dispute resolution bodies.
• Advise leadership on risk, settlements, and dispute avoidance strategies.
• Mentor and develop commercial / contracts teams.
