Swimming Instructor

الوصف الوظيفيPrevious swim instruction teaching experience or willingness to participate in training. Current American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Ability to complete all paperwork, lesson plans, etc., necessary for successful course completion. Ability to appropriately manage class participants and communicate effectively with parents / guardians. Knowledge to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to perform all American Red Cross skills as trained. Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with peers. Ability to work as part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Professional competencies. Ability to manage and monitor participants. Ability to handle customer service issues. Effective communication with co-workers, patrons, and staff. Ability to complete and delegate required duties daily.
Responsible for the successful instruction of learn-to-swim programming, customer service, emergency response, proper documentation, facility / area upkeep, and assistance as requested by the Deck Instructor, Aquatic Supervisor, or Professional Staff.
- Instruct group and private swimming lessons.
- Evaluate participant swimming ability and determine correct swim level.
- Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for participants.
- Be available as needed to discuss the participant’s course evaluation with the parents / guardians and / or participants.
- Punctually meet all scheduled class times, fully prepared to teach.
- Attend all staff and evaluation meetings as requested.
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures.
- Complete all necessary planning and paperwork inherent to the class.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
- Complete all Incident and Accident reports as necessary.
- Offer outstanding customer service.
