POSITION SUMMARY
Wind – Instrument Technician shall inspect, monitor, repair and calibrate the control instruments of 1.7 GW windfarm at Neom Green Hydrogen Plant. It shall support to maintain safety, equipment integrity and reliability of assets in accordance with NGHC maintenance strategy whilst ensuring uninterrupted plant operations and effective upkeep. It shall also contribute to continuous workflow improvements and increase in the asset productivity and efficiency.
NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are :
- Carry out daily maintenance work and routine preventative maintenance work according to set schedule and maintenance procedures.
- Routine calibration of instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability. It also involves adjusting the instruments to match established standards and checking for any discrepancies.
- Oversee third-party maintenance contractors and report any deviation / non-conformance with respect to contract and approved maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with other maintenance disciplines for safe isolation of equipment and LOTO implementation.
- Participate in EPC contractor site installation, testing and construction activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in inspections for signalling, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of windfarm equipment.Carry out required daily maintenance work and routine preventative maintenance work according to set schedule and maintenance procedures.Experience in developing the plant maintenance procedures and work instructions based on OEM manuals, standard industry practice.Experience in identifying the operational and strategic spares for the smooth and reliable operation of the plant.Participate / witness installation / testing and commissioning stages of the EPC construction project, assist the Maintenance Engineer in reviewing and commenting the EPC contractor various documents.Develop or assist in developing the technical scope of work for various contractors or services providers.Monitor the physical condition of instruments and its cabling in windfarm and report non-conformances to Maintenance Supervisor.Troubleshoot instrumentation & control failures and implement corrective actions in compliance with maintenance procedures and guidelines to reduce downtime.Carry out routine calibration of instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability. It also involves adjusting the instruments to match established standards and checking for any discrepancies.Support Maintenance Supervisor in performing root-cause-analysis by diagnosing probable causes of instrument malfunction.Regularly verify the necessary stock levels of spare parts and support in effective inventory control.Oversee the activities being performed by third-party maintenance contractors and report deviation / non-conformance with respect to contract and approved maintenance procedures.Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives in accordance with Change Management Plan.Participate in classroom / on-job / refresher trainings.Adhere and ensure strict compliance with environmental & social management system; and communicate to HSE and Operation Management for any near-misses, incidents, accidents and non-conformances.Always ensure the proper use of PPE and other safety equipment, as provided in safety manual.Ensure that PTW and LOTO procedure are implemented effectively.Coordinate activities with other staff members and departments as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS :
Good knowledge of maintenance of field instruments, signalling and SCADA equipment.Basic understanding and concept of SCADA scheme drawings and operational activities of Power Transmission Network.Basic understanding of Power Transmission, instrumentation.Aware of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system.Teamwork and effective collaboration skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Good knowledge of maintenance of field instruments, signalling and SCADA equipment.Basic understanding and concept of SCADA scheme drawings and operational activities of windfarm.Basic understanding of WTG instrumentation.Aware of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system.Teamwork and effective collaboration skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).ESSENTIAL EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Associate’s Diploma in Electronics / Instrumentation.5+ years’ experience in maintenance of utility-scale wind power plants with minimum size of 50 MW.DESIRED EDUCATION and / or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Associate’s Diploma in Electronics / Instrumentation.7+ years’ experience in maintenance of utility-scale wind power plants with minimum size of 100 MW.3+ years’ experience in development / construction of utility-scale wind power plants with minimum size of 100 MW.Seniority level : Mid-Senior level
