POSITION SUMMARY
The Hydrogen Innovation and Development Center (HIDC) Laboratory Technician role is a key member of the O&M team for NGHC. Responsible for carrying out the necessary daily analysis in the production plant, which includes raw materials, process and effluent water, process chemicals and process gases. The incumbent shall work in accordance with company safety policies, laboratory site-specific procedures and methods to ensure reliability, efficiency and productivity goals are met. Based in Neom, the position reports to HIDC Superintendent.
NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are :
- SAFETY IS FIRST, nothing is more important than safety, be fully aligned with all EH&S standards to achieve the goal of zero (0) lost time injuries at HIDC.
- Operate and maintain computerized analyzers such as Gas chromatograph, ICP-OES, Automatic titrator, ICP-MS, TOC-analyzer, Ion chromatograph, Digital density meter, etc.
- Process samples collection according to SOPs.
- Perform daily analysis as planned.
- Maintain and create laboratory procedures. Follow all laboratory procedures, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of analysis.
- Enter analysis results into plant management systems.
- Calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Track the availability and inventory of all chemicals, GC-calibration gases, and materials necessary for the operation of the laboratory.
- Report damage and malfunctioning of Lab. equipment to HIDC Superintendent.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and calibration of future new Lab. equipment.
- Keep the Laboratory and all its equipment organized by performing periodic housekeeping.
- Compare the analysis results with the respective standard specifications and inform the HIDC superintendent if there is any deviation.
- Understand the detailed Emergency Response Plan.
- Follow up on KPIs to ensure laboratory performance.

- Receive, label and safely store samples to be tested.
- Determine and perform tests needed for the analysis and report.
- Record tests and analyses and then report the results.
- Organize and store samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the sample.
- Maintain equipment records and daily work logs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the laboratory following the NGHC standards and analysis methods.Will develop and update laboratory procedures.PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Will act as a new maintenance technicians’ trainer and will supervise contractors.SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS
Candidate must possess a strong safety focus and background.Experience in handling laboratory methods and SOPs.Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Must be willing to be on call.Ability to work alone in a laboratory.Ability to set priorities.Good command of written and spoken English.Proactive, honest, teamwork and hard working.Be enthusiastic and willing to learn.Experience in GC, ICP-MS, IC and ICP-OES laboratory analyzers will be a plus.Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, biohazards, etc.).QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
College Diploma or University Degree with Chemical background.Minimum of 7 years of related experience in the industrial gas, chemical, refining and or related industry.Seniority level
