The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Area Sales Manager to join our team. In this role you will report to the Service Sales Manager Middle East and will develop a sales plan and strategy based on knowledge of the market, customers, competitors, and Hitachi Energy install base to capture opportunities, increase Hitachi Energy market share, and effectively apply the sales tools to capture opportunities, manage customer relationships, improve internal communications, and increase sales efficiency. How You’ll Make An Impact

Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote understanding of the full services offering, and align to provide a solution, ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process and building long-term customer commitment in complex business situations. Maintaining and utilizing an extensive network of contacts both inside and outside the organization to achieve sales goals and objectives, creating added value for the customer and Hitachi Energy, and ensuring a successful outcome by using value-based selling. Actively identify short- and long-term opportunities to increase sales within the area of responsibility, balance short-term success with long-term effectiveness, take initiative in complex tasks and projects, and act as a coach to colleagues in overcoming obstacles. Creating significant business opportunities based on analysis and understanding of customers and relevant competitors’ market strategies, and suggesting solutions to meet changing needs. Negotiating contract conditions, including commercial, financial, and legal terms, to improve terms and conditions, comply with risk management processes to ensure cost efficiency, and minimize risks in the sales process and related tools. Participating in the improvement of the sales process and related tools and training colleagues in using the sales tools and understanding the sales process. Having a full understanding of the service portfolio to sell services and create service opportunities for products, including analysis of customer situations on the installed base. Proposing Hitachi Energy service solutions to solve specific issues and proactively work with customers to explore operational needs and expectations, analyze customer expectations to recommend solutions, and contribute to the solution by negotiating deviations and achieving win-win outcomes. Taking ownership of specific customer cases to ensure efficient issue resolution. Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in sales is required with preference in Grid Automation & Services background. Proven experience in contract management and negotiation skills. Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
