Government Account Manager

Responsible for managing relationships and sales with government entities such as Defense, Interior, Education, Health and Housing. The role is to oversee the sales process, maintain existing government accounts, and identify new business opportunities within the government sector.

Role Purpose

To manage relationships and sales with government entities and drive growth by identifying and securing new opportunities.

Job Accountabilities & Activities

• Perform sales activities on government accounts and negotiate sales price and discounts in consultation with the manager.
• Implement account sales plans to build a substantial sales opportunity pipeline.
• Present and explain sales targets and plans to all staff.
• Achieve and optimize annual sales and profit targets by product line as specified in the annual budget.
• Manage the sales offices and provide logistical support for sales offices within districts.
• Track market performance and report variances to executive managers to enable corrective action.
• Act as the primary contact for government clients, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
• Identify and understand the specific needs, requirements, and challenges of government agencies, and propose appropriate solutions.

Education & Certifications

Engineering / Information Technology or a similar discipline from an accredited university.

4-5 Years of experience.
