Controls Project Engineer

About the Role

The main role of the Controls Project Engineer is to prepare project engineering documentation required of projects and contracts under the framework of Carrier Ethics & Compliance, EH&S policy, Quality Management System, and Approval Matrix.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project documentation such as specifications, mechanical and electrical drawings to create control drawings as per customer design standards.
• Prepare material & technical submittals, including Data Point Schedule, Schematics, Sequence of Operation, and project schedules for different control solutions per project design and client requirements.
• Write sequence of operations based on HVAC / BAS principles per design requirements following standards.
• Experience with integration using industry standard communication protocols (TCP / BACnet / MODBUS / MSTP / ARCNET).
• Troubleshoot complex site issues related to cabling / wiring and field device installation; handle complex controller programming logic of HVAC controls applications.
• Understand DDC panel wiring & functionality to implement the controls program.
• Develop equipment graphics for site-based graphics design of BAS / HVAC controls.
• Provide successful demonstrations of BAS & connected systems to customers at project sites.
• Comply with project site HSE requirements and maintain HSE documentation.
• Complete tasks focusing on inside / outside customer satisfaction and specification compliance.
• Prepare and submit project handover documentation such as Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals for supplied systems, equipment and devices.
• Coordinate design requirements with the Application / Sales / Operations teams.
• Read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets.
• Create VISIO / AutoCAD drawings for Controls / BMS documentation.
• Attend internal / external meetings with the Sales / Project team to collect information from the contractor / customer.
