Responsibilities
- The candidate will review the current SAP Master Agreement, including licensing, maintenance, and subscription terms.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities and potential commercial risks and support in preparing a negotiation strategy with clear objectives and fallback positions.
- Benchmark SAP pricing, terms, and discounts against industry standards.
- Support negotiation sessions with SAP’s commercial team.
- Advise on long-term SAP roadmap implications (e.g., RISE with SAP, cloud migration).
Qualifications
The candidate should have experience in SAP ERP with deep understanding of SAP licensing models (perpetual, subscription, RISE with SAP). Familiarity with SAP’s global negotiation practices and common pitfalls.Negotiation & procurement skills with proven experience negotiating large enterprise software agreements (multi-million dollar range), and strong vendor management and stakeholder alignment skills.Financial analytical acumen with ability to model total cost of ownership (TCO) and identify hidden cost drivers.Experience with discount structures, escalators, and consumption-based pricing, including Legal & Risk Awareness and understanding of key commercial contract terms such as termination clauses, liability, and audit rights (does not need to replace legal counsel, but should collaborate with them).Communication with excellent presentation and communication skills to influence executives and vendors.Preferred Background
Prior experience at SAP, a Big Four consulting firm, or a specialized software procurement consulting firm that worked on large SAP negotiations.
