Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Representative to drive business growth for our DISA production line, specializing in green sand automated molding technologies for iron and steel foundries. The ideal candidate will leverage market sector insights (including automotive, rail transportation, construction & infrastructure, industrial machinery, energy & power, agriculture, and water management) to identify opportunities, generate leads, and close deals with Tier 1 / 2, and OEM customers globally. This role requires a technical sales approach to promote DISA's horizontal molding solution, emphasizing efficiency, high-volume production, and sustainability.
The position reports to the Sales Manager and involves travel to client sites and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect potential clients in key market sectors such as automotive (e.g., Volvo, Cummins), rail transportation (e.g., Pandrol, Knorr-Bremse, Vossloh), construction & infrastructure (e.g., Caterpillar, JCB), industrial machinery (e.g., Parker Hannifin, Eaton), energy & power (e.g., GE Vernova, Siemens Energy), agriculture (e.g., John Deere, CNH Industrial), and water management (e.g., Victaulic, Grundfos).
- Conduct lead generation through research, networking, and analysis of global foundry landscapes, focusing on foundries using or upgrading to automated sand molding lines like DISAMATIC models.
- Perform market sector analysis to evaluate trends, competitor technologies (e.g., Sinto, Künkel Wagner), and opportunities for DISA's vertical molding systems in producing components like turbocharger housings, brake calipers, pump housings, valve bodies, and tractor links.
- Manage customer relationships from initial contact through post-sale support, including CRM updates, follow-ups, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies based on market conditions, component specifications (e.g., ductile iron, grey iron, steel), production volumes, and value propositions such as high mold rates (e.g., 300-500 molds / hour).
- Deliver technical sales presentations, demonstrating how SMI’s production efficiency, quality control, and sustainability for iron and steel castings.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, marketing) to tailor proposals and solutions to client needs.
- Achieve sales targets, track performance metrics, and report on pipeline progress.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Sales, or a related field; technical background in manufacturing, foundry operations, or mechanical engineering preferred.Proven track record in sales within the foundry, metal casting, or industrial equipment sector, with at least 3-5 years of experience generating business for automated production lines or similar technologies.Proficiency in lead generation techniques, including digital tools, trade shows, and cold outreach.Strong skills in market sector analysis, with the ability to interpret data on global foundries, material specifications (e.g., EN-GJS-500-7 ductile iron, ASTM A48 Class 40 grey iron), and industry trends.Expertise in prospecting and qualifying leads, focusing on OEMs and foundries serving high-volume or complex casting needs.Demonstrated experience in customer management, including building long-term relationships and handling objections.Knowledge of pricing strategies, with the ability to negotiate competitive deals while maintaining profitability.Solid understanding of technical sales principles, including explaining complex equipment benefits (e.g., flaskless molds, automation for gray / ductile iron castings) to non-technical buyers.Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Skills
Familiarity with sand molding technologies (vertical, horizontal, matchplate) and competitors in the iron / steel casting industry.Experience with sustainability-focused sales, highlighting eco-friendly aspects like reduced waste.Multilingual abilities for domestic and global markets.Seniority level
