SAP – Functional Lead (MRO, FLM, SCM) Reporting Structure :

Reports to Functional Delivery Manager The SAP Functional Lead will be responsible for implementing functionalities within the respective SAP modules, including all related products in the functional domain, interfaces to non-SAP applications, and mobile solutions. The role carries full responsibility for leading and managing the functional team to deliver high-quality project outputs on time, in line with project plans and standards. Responsibilities : Manage and control the development and delivery of the functional domain in collaboration with the Delivery Leadership Team. Provide applications strategy and direction on all SAP services within the functional domain. Lead solution design activities and provide technical solutions in respective functional areas. Align activities and manage relationships with customers, functional teams, and technical teams. Support solution designs developed by other SAP domain teams with input and recommendations. Ensure adherence to procedures, quality assurance standards, templates, and documentation requirements. Maintain the integrity, manageability, and architectural standards of SAP systems. Supervise and guide functional team members in daily activities, monitoring their performance. Support design, development, testing, and implementation of solutions, including after-hours activities when required. Establish performance baselines for functional domain processes, monitor performance, and optimize system execution. Review and provide input to shared deliverables such as user acceptance test plans. Collaborate with the authorization team to establish and implement appropriate security models. Drive resolution of issues during implementation and testing of SAP upgrades and enhancements. Contribute to the hiring and selection process for the project team. Conduct post-implementation reviews and monitor business applications within the functional domain. Participate in the Change Request process to document and justify changes. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Perform other related activities as required to achieve project objectives. Internal Cross-Working Relations : Domain teams such as Change Management, Release Management, Security Management, etc. External Working Relations : Customers. Third parties (Vendors / Implementation Partners). Job Requirements : Education : Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent from a recognized institution. SAP Certification. Strong communication skills in Arabic and English. Experience : 15+ years of work experience with deep knowledge of SAP functional domains. Minimum 5 years of SAP implementation experience in Defence-related organizations (preferably Defence ministries). Strong management skills in strategy, planning, reporting, and administration. Knowledge of system development lifecycle and enterprise-wide system implementation. Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Request). Good understanding of integration across SAP functional areas (FICO, HR, BI, etc.). Proven SAP Defence and Security project experience. Knowledge of SAP security models and products (SSO, IDM) from an integration perspective. Experience in gathering / documenting requirements and system functional design. Expertise in SAP Activate methodology and support frameworks. Skills : Strong leadership to drive inter- and intra-team initiatives. Effective organization, time management, and stress management skills. Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and make informed decisions. Self-motivated with minimal supervision required. Skilled in issue resolution across teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to train business users effectively. Strong technical understanding and experience with technology as an enabler. Collaborative mindset with proven ability to work in diverse teams. Positive attitude with a strong focus on delivery.
