Your impact Jacobs is looking for a talented Urban Designer to join our Buildings & Logistics team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of urban design components for major master planning projects, supporting team members and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. You will also assist in developing project design requirements in alignment with Jacobs’ Buildings and Masterplan strategy, while gaining exposure to innovative, large-scale developments across the Kingdom. In joining Jacobs you will
Contribute to urban design concepts for various projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements.
Work on medium to large scale design and production packages under the supervision of the Design / Project Lead.
Organize and develop client presentations, coordinating and compiling information from various disciplines (Planning, Design, Infrastructure).
Produce high-quality urban design and master planning project submissions in KSA and the wider Middle East.
Work with the team on the implementation of urban design projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Strong design and graphics capabilities and ability to communicate ideas via various visual and graphic media including hand and computer graphics.
Ability to understand land use, context, concept and detailed maps to develop a narrative accordingly / SWOT analysis.
Capable of working on own initiative or as part of a larger multidisciplinary team.
What you’ll need
A relevant qualification or work experience in Urban Design from a recognized institution.
Hands-on experience working on urban design and delivery of notable projects in regional / global contexts.
Thorough understanding of local and international practice and test standards for Urban Design.
Software requirements include AutoCAD, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); 3D / SketchUp capabilities; GIS capabilities are a plus.
