To lead and oversee the company’s QHSE and Safety Management System (SMS) functions, ensuring full compliance with international maritime regulations, client contractual standards, and company policies. As the Designated Person Ashore (DPA), the role ensures a direct link between shore management and vessel operations, promoting a strong safety culture, maintaining the Company’s Document of Compliance (DOC), and ensuring risks are effectively managed to ALARP. The DPA Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and continual improvement of QHSE and SMS processes, while also supervising the QHSSE department and supporting operational excellence across the fleet and shore-based operations. Job Purpose : Lead and oversee the company’s QHSE and Safety Management System (SMS) functions. Key Responsibilities :
Lead and monitor the QHSE performance of the department and direct reports in alignment with departmental and individual objectives. Ensure compliance and continual development of the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS), in line with the Document of Compliance (DOC), client contractual requirements, and maritime industry standards. Maintain the Company's DOC annually, overseeing audit preparations and adherence to standard compliance protocols. Manage and supervise the QHSSE Department operations, ensuring effective implementation of company policies and QHSE objectives. Stay current with changes in IMO and Class regulations, client-specific requirements, and company protocols, ensuring timely integration into operational systems. Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE manuals, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and Maritime Operational Manuals. Serve as the Company's Quality Administrator, ensuring compliance with client expectations, international legislation, and internal quality standards. Provide practical systems and procedures for offshore vessels and departmental operations, ensuring alignment with company policies and minimizing risks to ALARP through proactive and effective risk management. Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline. Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (COC) – Valid and recognized by relevant authorities. Minimum of 8 years of experience in the maritime industry, preferably with exposure to offshore support vessels or similar operations. Minimum 4 Years of offshore experience as Captain Proven managerial experience, with strong leadership and supervisory skills in a marine or QHSE environment.
