Role Summary
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We maintain Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. In this role you will apply measurement science, mathematics, physics, and engineering theory to design, develop processes and methods for calibrating electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and / or chemical Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). You will analyse and solve calibration problems using advanced mathematical and engineering knowledge, use statistics and uncertainty of measurement to analyse measurement standards and processes, possibly develop software to assist in calibration laboratory and / or departmental processes, recommend calibration standards, maintain laboratory and quality systems, and perform laboratory and departmental administration and management.
Job Accountabilities
As a Technician / Trainer Type II, you will be responsible for implementing the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and Saudi National Technical Training Program (SNTTP). You will train RSAF / SNTTP Trainee Technicians from Skill Level 3 to Skill Level 7 according to RSAF Training Policies, Procedures, Plans, Directives and Documents, ensuring maximum use of available resources and applying “Best Practice” Principles to ensure excellence in training delivery and outcomes.
You will mentor newly qualified RSAF and Saudi National (SN) Technicians within the Secondary Calibration Squadron (SCS) in Dhahran, acting as the first‑level knowledge expert within the designated Mechanical or Electrical measurement areas and serving as a “Subject Matter Expert” to provide advice and guidance to RSAF / SN Metrology Technicians on an “On‑Going” and “As Required” basis.
You will safely and competently perform Calibration, Adjustments, Alignments, Repairs and Maintenance on the RSAF Inventory of Test, Measuring and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) associated with Aircraft platforms, Weapons, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and Standard Support Equipment (SSE) in accordance with the RSAF Metrology Quality Manual (RSAFM 4‑7702).
