Job Purpose
The Technical Lead oversees all technical and engineering aspects of construction projects. He ensures that designs, drawings, materials, and construction methods meet project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements. The role bridges between the design team, site execution team, and management, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across project phases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and Technical Coordination
- Review and validate design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and codes.
- Coordinate between consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams for design clarification and issue resolution.
- Provide technical guidance to the project team and support in interpreting drawings and specifications.
2. Construction Support
Lead the preparation and review of construction methodologies, method statements, and technical procedures.Provide on-site technical support and solutions for complex construction challenges.Ensure that all technical aspects of the project are implemented according to approved drawings and standards.3. Quality and Compliance
Ensure adherence to construction codes, standards, and company quality policies.Conduct regular inspections and audits with the QA / QC team to verify compliance with technical specifications.Address non-conformities and propose corrective technical measures.4. Documentation and Reporting
Supervise the preparation of as-built drawings and technical documentation.Review and approve material take-offs, technical reports, and progress documentation.Maintain accurate records of technical communications and approvals.Mentor and guide junior engineers and draftsmen in technical matters.Coordinate with planning, procurement, and site teams to ensure timely technical deliverables.Participate in progress and coordination meetings to address technical issues and propose solutions.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Master’s Degree is an advantage.Experience : Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in construction (building projects), including at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role.Certification : PMP, LEED, or related professional certifications are an advantage.Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera, and MS Office.Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, codes, and construction practices.Familiarity with BIM processes and project coordination platforms.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent coordination and communication skills.Leadership and decision-making capabilities.Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Seniority Level
