Engineering Manager - OOK

Bechtel is seeking an Engineering Manager - OOK to join our team. This role is based in Riyadh and participates in the management of infrastructure design and master planning for Expo 2030 Riyadh project activities.

Overview

Reporting to the Technical Director, in this role you will be based in the London office of the design consultant responsible for the delivery of the detailed master plan and infrastructure detailed design. You will coordinate and lead the engineering aspects for the detailed Masterplan and infrastructure design for works located on site at Riyadh, and manage the performance of the customer’s Design Consultants in alignment with budget, schedule and quality requirements. You will establish and maintain Engineering Programme Management plans and ensure compliance with project governance, customer requirements, and relevant building codes. You may deputize for the Technical Director as the primary Delivery Partner representative on technical matters.

Major Responsibilities

• Possess full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the delivery of the infrastructure design.
• Support the design consultant in developing the Engineering Management Plans & Procedures.
• Ensure compliance with the customer’s project governance procedures & requirements.
• Establish and maintain robust engineering progress and performance measurement processes & reports.
• Lead the review of design deliverables, including constructability, value engineering and safety in design considerations.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders and undertake presentations as required, including Stage Gate Reviews.
• Establish and maintain an accurate Engineering Progress and Performance Report.
• Manage and be accountable for the timely delivery of all design submissions.
• Provide input to and own the engineering elements of project capital estimates (proposals and execution), quantities and budgets.
• Review major changes or deviations in project scope, material quantities, budget or schedule; assist with defining the change, obtaining accurate estimates, and notifying trends in accordance with Project Change Control procedures.
• Ensure engineering coordination with Project Manager, Procurement / Contracts, Construction, Startup, ES&H, and Project Controls.
• Direct preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, and special engineering reports as required.
