About the role :
The Head of IT will lead the strategic planning, development, and management of the organizations information technology systems. This executive role is pivotal in driving digital transformation, ensuring robust IT operations, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals. Experience within the insurance sector is a significant asset, enabling the candidate to better understand the unique operational, compliance, and security challenges of the industry.
Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership :
- Develop and execute an IT strategy that supports overall business objectives and enhances operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate technology initiatives with the companys long-term vision.
Operational Management :
Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of all systems and networks.Implement IT policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.Digital Transformation :
Lead initiatives to innovate and modernize IT infrastructure, applications, and services.Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that drive business growth and competitive advantage.Cybersecurity & Data Management :
Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect the organizations data and digital assets.Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.Budgeting & Vendor Management :
Manage the IT departments budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in technology and infrastructure.Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage service-level agreements.Team Leadership & Development :
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Facilitate professional development and ensure team alignment with organizational objectives.Stakeholder Communication :
Act as the primary liaison between IT and other departments, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration on technology-related projects and initiatives.Report on IT performance, project progress, and strategic initiatives to senior management.Candidate Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.Proven experience in managing digital transformation projects and complex IT operations.Strong expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, network management, and enterprise applications.Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets, as well as vendor relationships.Experience in the insurance sector is highly desirable, offering insight into industry-specific technologies, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.An understanding of local regulatory requirements and business practices.Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Languages :
