Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for admitted patients in the department under own responsibility or supervision of the consultant.
- Manage outpatient clinics when assigned, according to the approved departmental rota.
- Conduct patient assessments, request investigations, interpret results, establish diagnoses, plan treatments, and perform follow-up evaluations within granted privileges.
- Apply hospital-approved clinical guidelines and pathways to ensure high-quality and safe patient care.
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and residents in delivering patient care.
- Take part in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities.
- Participate in hospital and departmental committees as required.
- Uphold Islamic values, professional ethics, and hospital policies at all times.
- Maintain professional standards of care in line with international and national healthcare benchmarks.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained for all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Prescribe treatments, medications, and specialized interventions under consultant supervision and within the scope of privileges.
- Monitor patient progress regularly and update the consultant accordingly.
- Perform independent rounds at least once per shift and attend patients when called.
- Assist consultants in ward rounds and surgical procedures.
- Ensure timely documentation of patient records, discharge summaries, and medical reports in the electronic health system.
- Attend all emergency codes and provide support as per hospital policy.
- Contribute to patient and family education on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Provide teaching, supervision, and mentorship to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
- Engage in continuous self-development and support departmental training programs.
- Enhance patient experience through compassion, respect, and dignity.
- Carry out any additional tasks relevant to professional role and assigned by the department.
Education & Qualification
Medical degree from a recognized and accredited university.Completion of internship and residency in the relevant specialty.Postgraduate qualification (MD, MS, MSc, or equivalent) in specialty field.Licensure & Certification
Valid license to practice medicine in country of origin.Eligible for licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience after residency in the relevant specialty.Prior experience in a tertiary or teaching hospital preferred.Strong diagnostic and clinical management abilities.Effective communication and teamwork skills within a multicultural healthcare environment.Commitment to ethical practice, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.Familiarity with electronic medical records and hospital systems.Proficiency in English; Arabic language is an asset.Seniority level
