Responsibilities

• Perform detailed final visual inspection of castings for surface defects including cracks, blowholes, porosity, cold shuts, shrinkage, etc.
• Verify dimensional tolerances using calibrated instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, templates, and CMM if applicable).
• Cross-check against customer drawings, 3D models, and technical specification sheets.
• Conduct mechanical testing verification (e.g., hardness checks using Brinell / Rockwell testers).
• Carry out non-destructive testing (NDT) if trained and qualified — such as MPI, LPI, or UT — and interpret results accurately.
• Confirm that all machining, fettling, and coating processes have been completed to specification.
• Complete final inspection reports, release notes, and NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) with root cause indications.
• Maintain traceability through batch records, material heat numbers, and inspection status tagging.
• Review and verify compliance of product-related documents such as MTCs (Material Test Certificates), dimensional inspection reports, and final QC checklists.
• Ensure proper documentation is maintained for ISO 9001 or customer audits.
