The Legal Affairs Manager is responsible for leading the legal function of the organization, overseeing legal strategy, governance, and compliance. The role involves driving global legal trend analysis, guiding the development of legal frameworks, managing legal support and advisory services, and representing the organization in legal proceedings to safeguard its rights and interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the Legal & Governance strategic plan and objectives aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Develop performance objectives and monitor their achievement.
- Participate in budgeting and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Propose initiatives to improve financial performance and reduce legal / operational risks.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of best-in‑class legal policies, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance across all areas.
- Stay updated with global legal best practices and recommend necessary updates or corrective measures.
Legal Research & Advisory
Lead analysis of global legal trends and provide strategic recommendations for regulatory updates.Collaborate with Member States, legal panels, and external stakeholders on legal framework development.Advise on laws, bylaws, and regulations impacting the organization and its ecosystem.Design and standardize voting and election processes for legal and regulatory amendments.Oversee development and review of contract templates and advisory frameworks.Manage relationships with external legal experts and regulatory authorities.Lead drafting and negotiation of contracts and agreements.Represent the organization before courts, judicial bodies, and government authorities.Support investigations of complex legal cases and recommend action plans.People Management
Lead and mentor the legal team to build a performance‑driven culture.Oversee recruitment, training, and performance development of team members.Enhance employee engagement, motivation, and communication within the department.Qualifications & Experience
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field (required)Master’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field (required)Experience :
Minimum of 9+ years of professional legal experienceAt least 2 years in a managerial or leadership positionSeniority level
