Overview
A Quantity Surveyor plays a pivotal role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency, and contributing to the successful completion of construction projects within budgetary constraints. They combine technical knowledge, financial acumen, and strong communication skills to oversee the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities
Cost Estimation :
Prepare accurate estimates of quantities and costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.
Budget Management :
Develop and manage budgets throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and project requirements.
Bills of Quantities :
Prepare detailed bills of quantities and tender documents to obtain competitive prices from contractors and suppliers.
Contract Administration :
Administer contracts and manage variations in designs, specifications, and scope of work while ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Cost Control :
Monitor and control project costs, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on variations, ensuring financial efficiency and adherence to budgets.
Value Engineering :
Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest value engineering alternatives without compromising quality.
Risk Management :
Assess and mitigate potential risks related to cost, contracts, and procurement throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaboration :
Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
Final Accounts :
Prepare and finalize accounts at the end of the project, evaluating costs and ensuring accurate closure.

Qualifications
Academic Qualification : Diploma / Degree in Surveying & Mapping Sciences Work Experience : 2 to 4 Years Technical / Functional Competencies : Cost Estimating, Procurement, Contract Administration, Risk Management Profile
