OR Staff Nurse

Job Description

• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the center.
• Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Conducts pre- and post-operative education.
• Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team.
• Takes and monitors patients’ vital signs.
• Ensures that operating on correct patient and the correct procedure is being performed.
• Prepares operating room for patient / procedure with surgical equipment, sterile, linens and supplies that will be needed during surgery.
• Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of sterile techniques. Maintain order and cleanliness in operating room.
• Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation.
• Assists in positioning, responding to comfort / safety of patient. Assists the surgeon and scrub nurse as they prepare the patient for surgery.
• Handles patient documentation. Inventories all items both pre- and post-surgery.

Qualifications :

A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required. Candidates must be a Prof'l License(Passed Board / Bar / Prof'l License Exam) holder.
