Sr. Concept Artist

Steer Studios is looking for a Sr. Concept Artist who can work on multiple ideas and brainstorm visual solutions. The concept artist will help the teams set and enhance the game's visual identity and key elements. You will create desirable final in‑game artwork and placeholder artwork that feels authentic and lifelike.

Responsibilities

• Ideate blue sky concepts for the game or complete features.
• Provide thumbnails and silhouettes of characters and environments for game features and events.
• Work in any art style – realistic, semi‑realistic or cartoony.
• Develop storyboards, color palettes, mood boards, key art and animation rough notes or feedback.
• Create quick brainstorming sketches or feature flow sketches with multiple options.
• Produce all 2D graphics and UI elements such as game UI, HUD icons, app icons and other requirements.
• Offer solutions in feature discussions and provide whiteboard sketches.
• Build an art style guide with the art lead and art director and maintain detailed documentation.
• Participate in reviews, respond to critical feedback professionally and provide feedback to peers.
• Collaborate directly with the art director / lead to drive the game's visual identity.
• Manage outsourcing work, prepare vendor tests, check results and provide feedback on a regular cadence. Handle a complete outsourcing pipeline.
• Communicate closely with art leads and provide feedback across all aspects of art and UI.
