Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the automotive industry. Effective time management and organizational skills. Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The General Technician plays a crucial role in the automotive dealership and distribution industry by ensuring that vehicles are maintained and repaired to the highest standards. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and customer service skills to effectively diagnose and resolve vehicle issues. The technician will work closely with other team members to provide exceptional service to customers while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities :
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed on vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and repair options.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and dealership policies.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to enhance service efficiency.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
- Assist in training junior technicians and apprentices.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
