Field Compliance Coordinator (Drilling Environment)
Overview
The Field Compliance Coordinator (Drilling Environment) is responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability in drilling and completion operations. The role serves as the primary focal point for Environmental Management System (EMS) coordination, providing technical guidance, conducting field inspections, and supporting environmental objectives to maintain compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Environmental Management System (EMS) focal point for operations, maintaining communication with operations management to support environmental and occupational health compliance.
- Provide field support on environmental issues, including monitoring daily operations, identifying environmental impacts, and responding to environmental release events.
- Review and endorse departmental environmental objectives and annual action plans to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor departmental compliance with environmental and EMS training requirements and report deficiencies.
- Assess new or modified operational procedures for potential environmental impacts and report findings to the appropriate department.
- Conduct EMS assessments, environmental and occupational health inspections, and environmental compliance audits (e.g., ECAs, OHHAs, CEHAs, RPAs, NORM surveys, and EH surveys).
- Prepare non-compliance reports and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate environmental emergency drills, ensuring identified gaps are addressed.
- Track and report environmental performance indicators, including flaring, greenhouse gas emissions, water conservation, and energy efficiency.
- Advise operations teams on managing environmental risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Health, Safety, or a related field from an accredited institution. A Master’s or Doctoral degree is an advantage.Experience : Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably related to drilling and completion operations.Certifications : Certification or demonstrated knowledge in Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 preferred).Additional certifications in environmental sustainability, air quality management, hazardous waste management, GHG reporting, water / wastewater management, NORM / radiation safety, spill control, or noise control are highly desirable.Technical Skills : Strong understanding of environmental management principles, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards. Experience in conducting environmental training and awareness sessions. Proficiency in report writing, data analysis, and use of computer applications.Soft Skills : Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and disciplines. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
