Overview Auto Electrician
Responsibilities
Repair electrical faults or damaged electrical components on heavy devices, buses, vehicles, road sweepers, backhoes, loaders and other automotive trucks.
Inspect and diagnose the cause of electrical malfunction or failure; assess the damage level with the workshop electric foreman to determine required repairs.
Re-wire ignition systems, lights, and cockpit consoles; replace and adjust headlights; install and repair accessories such as heating units, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
Perform Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) as required for brand-new automobiles.
Execute preventative maintenance and service according to schedule.
Adhere to safety rules and procedures by applying safe working practices.
Plan and record electrical testing and repairs or implement alterations or replacement of equipment that does not meet operating criteria.
Re-inspect all completed repairs to ensure high quality before handing over the tools.
Secure powered, handheld and diagnostic devices by following control procedures.
Install and overhaul air conditioning (A / C) systems.
Contribute to the general housekeeping of the workshop and maintain tools in a clean condition.
Perform any task assigned by the workshop electric supervisor within the firm’s workshop or at client sites.
Qualifications
Technical high school diploma or equivalent trade studies as a vehicle electrician.
Safety-oriented for executing electrical repair work.
Proficient in operating diagnostic devices.
Knowledge of the different types of electrical circuits in heavy machinery and tools.
Fluency in English and / or Arabic.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a car electrical contractor at workshops for heavy machinery or tools.
