Bechtel Enterprises, Head of Middle East

Job Summary :

This individual will lead Bechtel Enterprises’ activities in the Middle East. Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Financing Services, this individual will lead the day-to-day project origination, investment analysis, development, and financing activities in the Middle East. Key activities will include : liaising with regional private and public stakeholders, project origination, supporting the business development efforts of Bechtel’s businesses, conducting analysis on investment opportunities, developing and executing financing solutions to fund clients’ projects, and providing strategic and financial advice. These activities will be done in close collaboration with and in support of Bechtel’s businesses in the Middle East. This individual is expected to develop close working relationships with the senior leadership of Bechtel’s businesses and his / her colleagues in Bechtel Enterprises’ other offices. Major Responsibilities :

Lead Bechtel Enterprises’ efforts in the Middle East related to project origination, investment analysis, development, and financing. Liaise with private and public stakeholders in the Middle East, including financiers, government entities, and developers (amongst others). Develop and maintain strong relationships with the financing community and help Bechtel’s businesses understand financing market trends as part of supporting business development efforts in the region. Lead origination of project opportunities for Bechtel Enterprises in the region in collaboration with and in support of Bechtel’s businesses. Spearhead project financing activities including financial modeling, investment analysis, development of financing plans, and raising debt, equity, and export credit agency financing. Lead economic analysis of potential projects, new markets, and M&A opportunities in the Middle East. Support customers with structuring procurement processes, evaluating bids, and closing transactions. Provide financial input into commercial structuring and negotiation process to ensure contracts can support financing commitments, including from export credit agencies. Education and Experience Requirements :

10+ years’ experience in project finance, consulting, and / or development. Relevant work experience in the Middle East. Demonstrated experience with project financing transactions. Required Knowledge and Skills :

Experience with infrastructure lenders, equity investors, and / or export credit agencies. Superior interpersonal and business relationship-building skills. A level of professionalism, judgment, and integrity consistent with Bechtel’s high standards. An ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Regional language skills, while not required, are preferred. Willingness to travel, including internationally (if necessary). Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, finance, or a technical / engineering field. Prefer Master’s Degree or MBA.
