The objective is to maintain continuous, effective, and efficient plant production by controlling or operating chemical processes, systems, and machines, all while strictly adhering to safety and operational regulations, rules, and procedures. Responsible for operating the Distributed Control System (DCS) within the plant to meet all process control parameters and product specifications, ensuring the safe operation of the facility. The role involves executing operations effectively across all areas of plant operations. Key accountabilities
Operational / Functional Controlling machines and processes and providing guidance to other operators — Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate and adjust machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles) within design and operating parameters Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events Oversee or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using panel boards, control boards, or semi-automatic equipment Control power generating equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, or reactors, using control boards or semi-automatic equipment Leading role in start and shut down and start-up of plant equipment following due processes and procedures Oversee transportation and storage of flammable and other potentially dangerous products to ensure that safety guidelines are followed Control operation of compressors, scrubbers, evaporators, and refrigeration equipment to liquefy, compress, or regasify natural gas Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations (as directed by supervisory personnel) Inspect / lead inspection of operating units, such as towers, soap-spray storage tanks, scrubbers, collectors, or driers to ensure that all are functioning and to maintain maximum efficiency Examine materials, ingredients, or products, visually or with hands, to ensure conformance to established standards Operate and oversee use of energy production equipment, pumping systems or equipment Leadership Understand, support, and embody the Maaden vision, values, and goals. Take accountability for personal improvement, development, skill enhancement, and overall effectiveness. Share expertise freely and frequently during the application and review of policies, practices, standards, procedures, and methods. Minimum Qualifications : High School Diploma or equivalent Background in Mathematics and Science is preferred Formal qualifications in Production or Process Management are highly preferred Trade test, formal production qualification, or diploma in Engineering Minimum Experience : Over 6 years of relevant experience in the mining industry and production. International experience is preferred. Maaden High-Performance Competencies : Proficient understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and techniques to optimize the manufacture and distribution of goods. In-depth knowledge of machines, tools, and equipment, including their design, functionality, maintenance, and repair. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant policies, rules, processes, and procedures that govern operations. Advanced familiarity with applicable industrial control software necessary for effective operational management. In-depth knowledge of Maaden’s safety codes, regulations, rules, and procedures, with extensive training to ensure compliance. Regularly updated compliance training to align with industry standards and regulations. Advanced understanding of chemical composition, structure, properties, and the chemical processes they undergo, including usage, interactions, safety signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Extensive experience in managing shutdown and startup operations effectively.
