Job Summary
The Project Director will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale projects in the water, energy, and infrastructure sectors. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder management to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Director will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Develop and implement project strategies, plans, and risk management frameworks. Oversee project teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and performance. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government authorities, and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring alignment with project objectives. Monitor project progress, financial performance, and KPIs, providing regular reports to senior management. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (HSEQ) and local regulations. Resolve complex project issues, disputes, and contractual matters in a timely and efficient manner. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and efficiency. Ability to lead large, diverse teams and foster a collaborative work environment. Strong capability in developing and implementing project strategies. Expertise in cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting. Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with clients, contractors, and government entities. Ability to handle complex challenges and make informed decisions under pressure. Deep understanding of engineering, construction, and project management principles in the WET sector. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus). Minimum 15+ years in project management, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role (Director or equivalent) within the water, energy, or infrastructure sectors. Extensive experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region. Familiarity with Saudi Arabian regulations, standards, and permitting processes in the WET sector. Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory but Beneficial)
Project Management Professional (PMP) PRINCE2 Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) certifications Work Environment & Expectations
