Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering activities related to the design of industrial machines, tooling, and production equipment.
- Preparation of project description or / and (FFU) and manage the project including reporting accordingly.
- Drive conceptualization, detailed design with documentation that includes equipment modelling, drawing preparation and strength calculations.
- prototyping, and validation of new machinery and systems.
- Collaborate with the Technology Manager to align design objectives with business and operational needs.
- Oversee technical reviews, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimation for design projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards, industry codes, and company engineering policies.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure timely project delivery.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, automation, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth handover and integration of new equipment into production.
- Foster continuous improvement and innovation in machine design, process automation, and industrial solutions.
- Team management of development activities that includes (but not limited to) : Coordination with other departments. Assist with preparation of design description or / and Fitness for Use (FFU). Coordinate project activities for engineers involved in design team.
- Mentor and develop the engineering team, promote knowledge sharing, and build technical competencies.
- Support capital investment planning and technology roadmaps related to machinery and equipment development.
Project management of machine and development projects with activities including, but not limited to :
Preparation of project description or / and (FFU) and manage the project including reporting accordingly.Coordinate, support and lead all project activities with internal departments and external companies.Prepare cost estimates and project schedules.Follow-up and report cost reports and progress within deadlines during the project.Coordinate and approve all technical documentation for quotations (RFQ)Issue purchase requests and perform technical reviews and follow up with Procurement department (PPS) as needed.Follow up suppliers during prefabrication and shop test as needed.Coordinate and lead all shipments and work / installation activities on construction site with installation and commissioning team.Check and approve that received documentation from suppliers is correct and sufficient for preparation of as built drawings and technical manuals. Typical documentation is updated drawings, datasheets, user manuals and purchase part list with correct spare part description.Prepare final project report including possible lesson learned.Authority and freedom of actions
The person in this role has authority to make decisions within the limits given by the closest superior and the company policy. Freedom of action is significant within the given limits
Job Requirements
Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering-, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Minimum 15 years of experience in machine design and equipment development, including 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role.Proven experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams and delivering complex projects.Technical Skills
Strong expertise in mechanical design principles, FEA analysis, and engineering calculations.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Inventor, ).Good understanding of industrial automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems.Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selection.Experience in project management tools and methodologies.Soft Skills
