Urgently required for a leading Engineering & Construction Company involved in Operation & Maintenance of Facility Management Industry in Saudi Arabia.

Main Purpose of the Job The main purpose of Senior Technician-HVAC is to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, as well as performing preventive maintenance and prescribed advanced tests to ensure that the equipment in the buildings is operating properly according to established specifications.

Main Competencies required for the Position Technical skills :

Strong theoretical and practical understanding of HVAC systems. Ability to read and understand HVAC schematics and manuals, psychrometric charts and refrigerant charts. Ability to use proper tools and equipment, and understand HVAC controls and operate BMS.

Problem-solving skills :

Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC problems via traditional methods and through NDT testing if needed. Identify the source of the problem and perform repairs safely and efficiently.

Communication skills :

Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and operators. Share information and collaborate on projects.

Attention to Detail :

Pay attention to detail and follow safety procedures precisely.

Safety skills :

Be aware of safety hazards associated with HVAC work. Follow safety procedures and ensure the team does the same. Be aware of refrigerant reclaiming and storage procedures.

Customer service skills :

Provide excellent customer service. Answer customer questions, troubleshoot problems, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

Report to the HVAC Supervisor or engineer on site or to the Hard Services / MEP Supervisor.

Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.

Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC problems including electronic and mechanical components.

Conserve, store and recycle CFC and HCFC refrigerants.

Repair or replace sensors or instruments, including re-wiring and tubing.

Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.

Identify required spare parts and promptly request them from supervisor.

Test and calibrate the systems to ensure accuracy and functionality.

Monitor additional services done by subcontractors & third parties.

Timely close the assigned work orders on MAXIMO and log the required details.

Inspect, test & snag HVAC systems and log issues on Aconex or similar software at site.

Maintain detailed records and history logs of maintenance activities and equipment status.

Senior Technician – HVAC mentor and provide support to regular HVAC technicians.

Ensure that PTWs, RAMS, LOTO and Energy Isolation Procedures are strictly adhered.

Communicate with other team members, such as engineers, technicians, and operators.

Respond to reported breakdowns promptly and troubleshoot and resolve faults efficiently.

Minimum qualifications / educational levels required for this position

Diploma or Degree in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical engineering in addition to a recognized certificate in HVAC and Refrigeration.

Selection Criteria

Good command of English – both written and spoken.

Ability to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems (both chilled water and DX systems), CAV / VAV systems, Heat Recovery, AHU & FCU systems, packaged units, splits, evaporative coolers.

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC problems.

Working knowledge of BMS systems and HVAC controls is an advantage.

Working Knowledge of MAXIMO, CAFM and ACONEX is an advantage.

Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Ability to read and understand HVAC control schematics and manuals.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks related to HVAC maintenance.

Good computer skills.

Special Conditions

Ability to work in confined spaces.

Ability to work in hazardous environments.

What minimum experience is required for this position At least 8 years of experience in HVAC works with at least 4 in maintaining major HVAC systems (chilled water and DX systems).
