Job Description
A Leading Global Facilities Management firm is currently hiring South Africans to be part of the Saudi 2030 goal and deliver new facilities successfully. Facilities include a city housing 30 000 people and manufacturing plants for the light and medium industry; and a industrial development which will house 15 000 people and will have a wet and dry dock for the refurbishment of oil tankers and rigs.
In this role, you will manage and oversee the commissioning of plant and its handover in a fully functioning state and provide training to operators.
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commissioning of plants
Your requirements will include :
- Managing the oversight of the proper handover and commissioning of plant and systems
- Maintain a database of assets to be commissioned and the various phases of commissioning
- Designing such policies and procedures necessary to ensure plant and equipment is properly commissioned and handed over
- Agree a timetable and plan with the main contractor
- Ensure Engineers are available to witness commissioning as planned
- Liaise with the main contractor as slippage occurs and update the joint plan
- Provide progress reports
- As advised by the Engineers report any non-performing plant to the main contractor and agree a programme for further investigation
- Advise the Client if any plant cannot be rectified and is performing below specification by way of a written report
- In conjunction with the Client, Main Contractor, Transition Manager and Maintenance Service Provider (MSP) agree upon final sign off and handover to Client and date the MSP’s responsibilities commence
- Collate all information and identify warranty and DLP obligations
- As informed by the MSP if they are unable to get the main contractor to attend to a defect, intervene accordingly
- Maintain oversight of all post hand over defects arising and their status
- Assist the Commissioning Engineers and Clients own Maintenance Engineers to properly interface with one another and effect proper inspections and smooth handover
- Provide advice on PPM and other maintenance techniques
- Ensuring all activities are carried out safely
- Identify and manage risks.
