Overview
We are seeking a seasoned engineer with expertise in Production Accounting (Mass Balance) and Energy Performance accounting (Energy Balance) for the oil & gas or petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle implementation, configuration, and support of the 2 solutions (Mass and Energy) to ensure accurate, auditable, and reconciled production mass and energy data. Responsibilities
Lead the deployment, configuration, and support of software platforms (e.g., Belsim Vali or equivalent). Implement robust data collection, validation, and reconciliation workflows integrating with DAHS, LIMS, SQL DBs, and other enterprise systems. Develop, validate, and maintain energy and production models covering key equipment : rotating machines, heaters, fired equipment, and heat exchangers. Manage audit trails and secure user access by defining and enforcing role-based permissions aligned with corporate security policies. Produce detailed and aggregated reports (daily, weekly, monthly, annual) on energy usage, production metrics, steam / fuel / power balances, and deviation analysis ("bad actors"). Collaborate with process engineers, operations, and IT to troubleshoot data issues, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for management decision-making and regulatory compliance. Drive continuous improvements in data quality, system integration, and process alignment to support plant-wide energy efficiency initiatives. Provide user training, documentation, and support to facilitate adoption and efficient use of software platforms for Mass and Energy Balance. Support production accounting close processes, providing accurate reconciliations and insights into operational performance. Qualifications
Required experience and capabilities include : Expertise in Production Accounting (Mass Balance) and Energy Performance accounting (Energy Balance) in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry. Experience with full lifecycle implementation, configuration, and support of Mass and Energy solutions to ensure accurate, auditable, and reconciled data. Ability to design and maintain data integration from multiple sources including DAHS, LIMS, SQL databases, and universal DSVs to enable comprehensive energy and mass balance reconciliation. Strong understanding of process engineering, energy management, and data validation to optimize plant performance reporting and compliance. Ability to manage audit trails and secure user access with role-based permissions in line with security policies. Proven track record in developing, validating, and maintaining energy and production models for various equipment. Experience collaborating with process engineers, operations, and IT to troubleshoot data issues and support regulatory compliance. Commitment to continuous improvement in data quality, system integration, and process alignment. Experience providing user training, documentation, and support for mass and energy balance platforms. Experience supporting close processes with accurate reconciliations and insights into operational performance.
