Role Overview The Design Director for THE LINE Neighborhood Design team will oversee neighborhood master plans and architectural designs for THE LINE. Responsibilities include leading a team of Design Consultants, reviewing designs, and guiding their development. The role covers designing a precinct (two neighborhoods) of approximately 1,000,000 m² of assets, with time allocated as 40% on each neighborhood and 20% on NEOM Business responsibilities.
Reporting To Design Director Neighborhoods Module 46, THE LINE
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate design management at the precinct level, including asset design, façade, sustainability, and public realm.
Manage design quality, technical standards, and process compliance.
Ensure adherence to Development Control Regulations and KPIs.
Maintain Risk and Safety registers related to design.
Review and sign-off on design stages and coordinate with city-level designers.
Additional Responsibilities
Lead design quality management and oversee master planning and architectural design across sectors.
Ensure innovation and excellence in design, aligning with THE LINE vision.
Coordinate interfaces between neighborhoods and with other assets.
Collaborate with cost and project teams to meet design and budget goals.
Manage design documentation, briefs, and compliance across disciplines.
Lead technical reviews and oversee visualization, detailed design, and construction documentation.
Supervise senior design staff and manage consultants.
Required Skills and Experience
20+ years of architectural design and management experience, including large projects and international consultancy experience.
Expertise in diverse architectural typologies and public realm design.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, with Grasshopper and V-Ray as a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications : B.Arch or B.Sc. in Architecture; Postgraduate degree preferred; International accreditation (RIBA, AIA).
