Procurement Specialist
Summary
The Procurement Specialist supports the Salam by assisting in the sourcing of products and services in alignment with the Salam’s budget. They also participate in supplier communications to secure optimal pricing and contribute to reviewing, receiving, and executing and procurement tasks, and also ensuring the completion of procurement procedures, while supporting the development and improvement of purchasing procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily procurement tasks and requests.
- Review procurement data and information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare purchase requests and coordinate with departments to ensure technical and logistical requirements are met.
- Assist in preparing the procurement plan in line with the Salam’s strategic objectives.
- Participate in the implementation and enhancement of procurement strategies in collaboration with procurement management.
- Support the execution of daily procurement operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Assist in ensuring the timely delivery of required materials and services from suppliers, meeting quality standards.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to support the receipt of purchased materials and services in accordance with contractual obligations and Salam interests.
- Participate in managing RFP processes and conducting technical evaluations of suppliers in collaboration with stakeholders and relevant committees.
- Assist in conducting market research to identify suitable suppliers that meet Salam needs.
- Support the monitoring and tracking of procurement-related contracts in coordination with relevant departments to ensure proper execution.
- Coordinate with inventory control personnel to support material needs in line with projects requirements.
- Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.Professional certifications such as CIPP, CPPM, CPP, CAME, or CSCP are considered an asset.Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field.Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Good understanding of contract drafting procedures.Familiarity with accounting software and database / spreadsheet systems.Strong negotiation and agreement skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strong organizational skills for managing data, documentation, and meeting deadlines.High attention to detail with strong auditing capabilities.Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.Ability to make prompt and effective decisions when required.Teamwork and leadership skills when needed.Advanced reporting skills.Seniority level
