Job Title : Project Controls Director
Division : Project Controls
Role Purpose : The Director of Project Controls is responsible for leading the strategic planning, budgeting, control processes, and innovation across the organization’s portfolio of projects. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the successful delivery of projects within budget, schedule, and scope constraints, while driving continuous improvement, sustainability, and technological integration. This role also provides executive-level visibility and reporting on project performance, control / program risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource requirements.
- Ensure alignment between project objectives and organizational strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and establish feasible timelines.
- Implement project management best practices to drive efficient project execution.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Develop and implement crisis management plans to address unexpected challenges and ensure project continuity.
- Establish and maintain robust project budgeting and cost control processes.
- Develop detailed project budgets and allocate resources accordingly.
- Monitor project expenses and identify cost variances in a timely manner.
- Implement corrective actions to keep projects on budget and maximize resource utilization.
- Provide cost forecasting and reporting to executive leadership.
- Identify and manage cost risks associated with project budgets, including currency fluctuations, inflation, and market conditions.
- Implement cost optimization strategies to maximize resource utilization and minimize waste.
- Oversee the cost aspects of vendor and subcontractor contracts, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and timely payments.
- Conduct budget scenario analysis to evaluate the cost impact of different project decisions and changes.
- Ensure compliance with all cost reporting standards and regulatory requirements related to project budgeting and cost control.
- Develop and manage effective project control mechanisms, such as progress reporting, risk management, and change control procedures.
- Implement project performance metrics and dashboards to provide executive-level visibility into project performance.
- Develop and implement control / program risk management strategies, including the use of predictive analytics, to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans to address potential issues.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and accurate project information.
- Continuously improving project control processes to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Lead the integration of advanced project management technologies and tools to enhance project control processes.
- Drive innovation in project management practices by identifying and implementing new methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Establish and oversee control / program quality assurance processes to ensure that all projects meet the required standards and specifications.

Experience : Minimum 20-25 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.Expertise : Demonstrated expertise in project planning, budgeting, and cost control, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.Industry Experience : Extensive experience in the construction industry, preferably in large-scale projects.Technical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and industry regulations.Leadership : Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.Education and Certification Minimum Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
