The Role The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations within the food industry, with a particular focus on dates production, sales, and international distribution. This role requires a strong sales background, leadership skills, and the ability to manage employees while ensuring that sales targets cover operational costs and contribute to overall profitability. The General Manager is also responsible for implementing and adhering to the company’s approved strategic plan, with a primary focus on export markets rather than the local market.
Leadership & Management
Lead, manage, and supervise company staff across various departments.
Build a performance‑driven culture that motivates employees and ensures accountability.
Implement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain operational excellence.
Ensure full compliance with the company’s approved strategy and long‑term vision.
Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with the company’s approved strategy, emphasizing exports as the main growth driver.
Achieve revenue targets and ensure coverage of operational and nonoperational costs.
Focus on expanding international markets for dates and related food products, while limiting reliance on the domestic market.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with overseas clients, distributors, and trade partners.
Identify and secure opportunities in high‑demand international markets.
Operations & Finance
Oversee day‑to‑day operations to ensure efficiency in production, packaging, and international logistics.
Manage budgets, cost control, and P&L responsibilities to maintain profitability.
Align operational strategies with the company’s approved export‑driven business plan.
Strategic Planning
Implement the company’s export‑focused strategy and ensure consistent execution across all departments.
Recommend adjustments and improvements to align with global market trends and international trade requirements.
Ensure compliance with local and international food industry regulations and export standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Food Science, or related field (MBA preferred).
Proven experience (10+ years) in sales and management, preferably within the food export industry.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision‑making abilities.
Knowledge of international trade regulations, supply chains, and export logistics.
Knowledge of Saudi market.
Fluent in Arabic and English (other languages are a plus).
