Job Purpose / Objective
Responsible for the delivery of quality orientation, training and educational activities to patients for basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Participate in the process of establishing standards to ensure that breastfeeding training programs are developed in accordance with the overall direction.
- Identify breastfeeding learning needs of patients and participate in setting plans and objectives to meet these needs.
- Design the development and implementation of instructional and reference materials related to breastfeeding.
- Participate in organizing and takes part in seminars / workshops / activities towards enhancing professional development.
- Visit new mothers and provide on regular basis counselling, breastfeeding information and trainings and support new mothers, including telling them about the benefits of breastfeeding, overcoming common barriers, and getting a good start with breastfeeding.
- Help mothers prevent and handle common breastfeeding concerns.
- Respect each participant by keeping her information strictly confidential.
- Attend and assist with prenatal classes and breastfeeding support groups.
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his / her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education / Professional Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Professional - Preferably Nursing / Nursing EducationExperience
Minimum of at least 3 years working experience in same specialtyProfessional Licensing / Certification / Training
