Chief Database Geologist

The Chief Database Geoscientist understands both database infrastructure / management as well as the exploration workflow. They adapt and customize procedures and the database structure to suit the needs of the exploration team. They are responsible for a team of database geoscientists who support and maintain the integrity and quality of exploration data.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio.
• Extensive experience in Fusion, DataShed, or Aquire.
• Geological database experience at a major mining company or a medium-tier company with an extensive project portfolio.
• Experience implementing a database system at a new site.
• Focus on error prevention rather than correction; detail-oriented.
• Ability to recognize anomalous data readily.
• Willing to integrate exploration principles with data management.
• Knowledge in Python and big data analytical tools is an added advantage.
• Skill in any Business Intelligence visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau) is an added advantage.
