TM and TMArabia Limited have been awarded two lump-sum turn-key EPC contracts relatedto a petrochemical expansion at the SATORP Refinery (a JV composed of SaudiAramco and Total Energies), in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The overallvalue of the contracts is approximately USD 2 billion. The contracts relateto the execution of two packages of the complex, namely the “DerivativesUnits” package - which includes a butadiene extraction unit, an olefinextraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether unit, a butadiene selectivehydrogenation unit, a 2nd stage pygas hydrogenation unit and benzene &toluene extraction unit - and the “High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) &Logistic Area” package, which includes two polyethylene units and therelevant product logistic facilities.
The project’sscope of work entails complete engineering services, equipment and materialsupply, construction activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, andshall have a duration of approximately 4 years.
Quality RecordController ensures the implementation of all the quality procedures andstandards in the appointed area / subcontractor. He / she is responsible forperforming inspections on subcontractor’s activities assuring the conformityto site inspection plans and applicable engineering.
Duties and responsibilities
- To ensure the implementation of allthe Quality / HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities(subcontractors) of responsibilities, together with the other members ofQuality / HSE teams;
- To support the Construction MaterialController in checking the Supplier’s material prior to the start ofworks;
- To address Subcontractor activitiesfor his / her own discipline, ensuring that Plant Construction works areperformed according to the applicable engineering specification, siteprocedures and Site Inspection Plan according to Quality & Safetyprocedures, as well as according to the terms and conditions of thesubcontract
- To check that the manpoweremployed by the Subcontractor continuously respect the requirements ofapplicable procedures and the Quality level fixed by the same.
- To check that the equipmentemployed by the Subcontractor are adequate and calibrated as requiredaccording to applicable procedures and to the Quality level fixed by thesame
- To check that the works performedby the Subcontractor conform to the applicable documents, Safetyregulations, and to the Quality level fixed by the same, in coordinationwith the other members of Quality / HSE teams;
- To inform the Site Engineer tomake the necessary changes when detects any design errors;
- To promote the non-conformitydraft and informs the Construction Quality Manager, supporting him / herin the nonconformity resolution;
- Keeping the Construction QualityManager informed, receive the Request of Inspection from Subcontractorsand confirm to proceed with the inspection informing the Client, assumethe responsibility in case of Client’s (motivated) rejection of theinspection taking care of remedial action and avoiding the repetitionofsimilar case in future.
Knowledge &Qualifications
University Degree or Diploma in arelevant discipline or equivalent.Experience
Relevantexperience in construction / modernizationof large Petrochemicalplants / EPC projects;Strongsubcontractors and construction / commissioning management experience inEPC project, Large / XL plants;Minimum3 years’ experience in the specific discipline;Similarrole covered in last three projects of comparable size;Experienceworking on Contractor side.Skills andAbilities
