Tecnimont and Tecnimont Arabia Limited have been awarded two lump-sum turn-key EPC contracts related to petrochemical expansion at the SATORP Refinery (a JV composed of Saudi Aramco and Total Energies), in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The overall value of the contracts is approximately USD 2 billion. The contracts relate to the execution of two packages of the complex, namely the “Derivatives Units” package - which includes a butadiene extraction unit, an olefin extraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether unit, a butadiene selective hydrogenation unit, a 2nd stage pygas hydrogenation unit and benzene & toluene extraction unit - and the “High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) & Logistic Area” package, which includes two polyethylene units and the relevant product logistic facilities.
The project’s scope of work entails complete engineering services, equipment and material supply, construction activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, and shall have a duration of approximately 4 years.
The Static Equipment Supervisor directs Subcontractor activities for Static Equipment, ensuring that Plant Construction works are performed according to the erection schedules and Project documents, within the assigned cost budget, and according to Quality & Safety procedures, as well as according to the terms and conditions of the subcontract. Each Supervisor reports to the Construction Manager.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the overall quality and integrity of static equipment. This includes but is not limited to pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
Inspection and Testing
Conduct thorough inspections and tests on static equipment to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, codes, and standards.
Conduct in-depth inspections of static equipment during installation and testing phases.
Documentation
Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and results.
Prepare and submit quality reports and documentation as required in a timely manner.
Review engineering drawings, material certifications, and test reports for compliance with project requirements.
Compliance
Ensure all equipment and processes comply with applicable codes (ASME, API, etc.), client specifications, and quality standards.
Identify and document defects or non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and verify their implementation.
Quality Assurance
Support the development and implementation of project-specific procedures.
Participate in audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
Collaboration
Work closely with SUBCONTRACTORS, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely completion of the project.
Training
Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors, other team members, other departments, and SUBCONTRACTOR as needed.
Knowledge & Qualifications
Certifications : API653 for tank, and API 510 for pressure vessel
Experience
installation of equipment such as Skids, Valves, Vessels, Fired Heaters, Auxiliary Equipment, Packaged Equipment in plant construction, etc.
piping systems and pipeline including bellows and supports.
flange assembly and gaskets.
hot tap procedure.
vessels, tanks and spheres construction.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of industry standards and codes (ASME, API, ASTM).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics.
Shall be able to read, write and speak English language.
Shall be fully conversant with applicable Industry Standards and Specifications.
Shall be able to perform a variety of inspection functions with minimal supervision.
Previous experience in Saudi Aramco projects with approval is a plus.
