Job Purpose Work in a very systematic manner, performing routine service and troubleshooting issues on heavy equipment and, in particular, equipment for concreting applications such as truck‑mounted concrete pumps, batching plants, and boom / line pumps.
Main Responsibilities
To service, adjust and repair equipment, components and accessories including removal and refitting in a safe, proper and economical manner using special tools and equipment provided, always ensuring top‑quality workmanship.
Observing, recognising and reporting on defects and / or symptoms of impending failure.
Interpret technical service information and data from manuals, bulletins etc. Implement by applying correct techniques.
To always ensure that equipment and tools are kept in a clean safe condition and report any shortages or damaged / faulty equipment to the Supervisor.
Drive heavy equipment and company vehicles on‑road or off‑road to ensure that serviced vehicles perform as expected and reach customer sites to address equipment issues.
Keep abreast of improvements in technology and service techniques.
To comply with the aims and objectives of the Customer Satisfaction Programme.
To acquire, using systems laid down by the Company, all necessary replacement parts, ensuring that no parts are fitted to machines other than those required to complete the work detailed on the job card unless specific instructions are given by a supervisor.
Keep working areas clean and safe, dispose of displaced material, fluids, packaging, etc., into receptacles provided.
Ensure personal as well as safety and that no equipment or tools are damaged with due regard to Company Policy and current legislation.
HSE Responsibilities
Adhere to follow all company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Promptly identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to the appropriate supervisor or QHSE team.
Properly use, maintain, and store personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools as required by the job.
Attend and actively participate in mandatory Safety inductions, HSE trainings, safety meetings, emergency drills and root cause investigations.
Follow established emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans, fire response, and first aid if trained.
Follow protocols to minimise environmental impact, including proper waste disposal and reporting spills or leaks.
Provide suggestions to enhance Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and take responsibility and initiatives for continual improvement.
Qualifications & Relevant Certifications
At least a Technical or Trade Diploma.
Knowledge and experience with a comprehensive hand tool kit.
Possession of a valid passenger driving licence.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, power trains, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, steering, electronics as well as computer applications.
Experience on servicing concrete equipment.
Able to read schematic diagrams.
Very good electromechanical skills.
Minimum experience of 3‑5 years in the industry.
Ability to work independently and to function as part of a team.
Technically competent, computer literate and competent in the use of a laptop for troubleshooting.
Proficient in technical English.
