Bechtel is seeking a Contract Specialist for the New Murabba development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Bechtel’s role at the New Murabba development is Early Works, Infrastructure and Public Realm. The Early Works involves the initial set up on the project, from fencing, offices to logistics and construction indirect. The infrastructure work covers earthworks, expressways, roads, metro, power, water, sewage, district cooling, irrigation, automated waste collection, telecommunications and all other utilities required for the city to function smoothly. As for the expansive areas of Public Realm, it’s inclusive of all the landscaping, hardscaping, water features, lighting and public art.
Job Summary The successful candidate will collaborate with experts in their fields and be supported by senior colleagues providing a fertile environment for progression, growth, and advancement. The Contract Specialist will support administration of complex contract packages and / or administer simple to moderate contract packages from award through to completion and close-out.
Major Responsibilities
Monitoring of commercial performance to ensure compliance with contract and timelines.
Drafting of letters, instructions, general notices, and other contractual correspondence for review by senior colleagues.
Preparation of documentation and support for the assessment of entitlement regarding claims submitted by consultants / contractors.
Maintaining of accurate records of all contracts and their performance.
Preparation of regular reports on contract status, compliance, and financial performance.
Support final account negotiation, expediting of receipt of all contract deliverables and closing out of contracts in line with project procedures.
Education And Experience Requirements Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge And Skills
Working knowledge of contract pricing structures, contract law, contract drafting, tendering procedures & requirements
Ability to review contracts and documents for accuracy and compliance, identifying potential issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Knowledge of when to engage legal, commercial, and functional support
Understanding of project management principles and practices to oversee contract execution against project timelines
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple contracts and ensure documentation is thorough and accessible.
Knowledge of engineering / construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, and policies, procedures, and work practices
